Jisc Research Data Network Workshop
At the end of this month, St Andrews will be hosting the third Jisc Research Data Network Workshop in the Medical Building, North Haugh on 30th November from 10am-5pm.
The purpose of the workshop is to bring together people working in higher education to exchange knowledge around the practical implementation of research data management (RDM). The workshop aims to inform Jisc services such as the Research Data Shared Service in addition to institutional RDM provision, through stimulating discussion about RDM issues, system development and implementation.
The focus of this next workshop will be on innovative tools, and approaches that offer practical solutions to current and future RDM challenges. It is a particular aim that the workshop will enable opportunities for people to exchange information with each other about the issues they are tackling, and bring successes, failures and learning points to the fore.
We will be running a 45 minute long active data workshop as part of this event. This will include talks by two St Andrews researchers about their experiences with active data and research procedures, followed by an opportunity for open discussion about issues and challenges facing researchers in this area.
The keynote address will be given by John MacColl, University Librarian and Director of Library Services.

As a member of the £1m Jisc Research Data Shared Service pilot, St Andrews will also be welcoming Jisc and other pilot institutions on 29th November for a pilot members meeting, prior to the Research Data Network Workshop.
