Jisc strikes deal with Wiley
Announced on 2 March, the Jisc-Wiley UK transitional Read and Publish agreement means researchers in participating institutions can publish their work in eligible fully Open Access and hybrid (OnlineOpen) journals at no direct cost to them.
Read and Publish agreements are a new type of big deal that combine subscription and Open Access elements and require publishers to make significant progress in the transition to Open Access during the deal term. We hope that this will help institutions control the costs of reading and publishing research, create a more streamlined workflow for researchers and, in the long term, be compliant with the requirements of Plan S.
St Andrews researchers who are corresponding authors can select eligble fully Open Access titles or OnlineOpen in eligible hybrid titles free of charge.
A range of Creative Commons licences is available and, as usual, researchers should check their chosen licence meets any funder requirements. This usually means a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY).
